The TDI combines the functionality of a Rack Interface Module (RIM) with the data gathering capabilities of a communication processor like TDXnet.

Used to set the rack address: 127 possible addresses
Used to set the 3500 rack to either "RUN" or "PROGRAM" mode. RUN mode permits normal rack operation but prevents configuration changes. PROGRAM mode provides for conventional rack functioning as well as local or remote rack design. The key can be withdrawn from the rack in any position, allowing the switch to remain in RUN or PROGRAM. Locking the switch in the RUN position prevents unauthorized rack reconfiguration. By locking the switch in the PROGRAM position, you can remotely reconfigure a rack at any time.
