PCA198-CXB is an ISA Bus ARCNET Card developed by GE. It is a part of GE Speedtronic Mark V gas turbine control systems. This component functions as a IDOS to HMI Communication card. It is an 8-bit ARCNET Control Chip with enhanced new features including command changing, sequential I/O mapping of the internal RAM buffer. 90C198 8-bit ARCNET controller. The PCA 198 series of ARCNET network interface modules links ISA-compatible computers with ARCNET local area networks.

Configuration for ARCNET Interface Card

  • This configuration file must match the hardware installed in the I processor. At startup time the I processor will look for this file as the FARCNET.DAT file. (A template file is available in G:DATA, copy it to FARCNET.DAT and edit it there to match your hardware configuration.)
  • This file contains 1 parameter per line. Any line not beginning with a recognized keyword is ignored. Any line containing invalid values for the given parameter are ignored (for example, specifying IRQ with a value less than 15 or memory segment  OFFFFH).
  • Parameter lines may have leading/trailing blanks and tabs. Each line is case insensitive. Separate parameter keywords and their values with blanks and/or tabs. Each line must terminate with LF character.
