IC3600SCBN2A is a Microfast Processor Board manufactured and designed by General Electric. It is a part of Mark I and II Series used in gas turbine control systems. The Mark I system, the first of the Mark series, was implemented in New York in 1968. There is a long line of huge metal prongs running along the right side of the board. The module can be connected to the bigger turbine system using these prongs.

IC3600SCBN2A Electronic design

  • The control electronics are primarily housed in the turbine control panel and include major components such as the page, power supplies, interfacing relays, the ITS microcomputer, and terminal trip wiring terminations.
  • The page is mounted in a roll-out rack and is essentially a set of receptacles into which the indi ards plug. Wire-wrap connections are used to connect the interconnecting wiring at the back of each socket. Wire-wrapping is performed on a computer-controlled machine using a wiring pattern generated by the computer. The elementary diagram is generated by the same computer to provide correspondence between the elementary and this backplane wiring.
  • Power supplies convert unregulated DC power from the battery to precision regulated outputs for the electronic cards. These supplies are designed and built with a large margin of error to ensure a cool running, long life eyetem.
  • To prevent failure propagation, critical supplies have short-circuit and overvoltage protection. Considerable care has been taken to control current and voltage transients that could damage components or cause noise problems in the control electronics. The majority of the power supplies are switching-mode regulators, with follow-on series regulators for precision voltages.


  • It has twenty little metal cube-shaped components arranged around its surface. On the right side of the board, adjacent to the metal prongs, ten of these components are located. Three of these cubes are arranged in a vertical line at the top of the printed circuit board in the middle of the board.
  • A series of seven metal cubes positioned vertically commencing at the lower border of the module can be found on the left side of the device. Three vacant holes sit just above these seven metal pieces and are intended to contain resistors. R1, R2, and R3 are the designations for the spaces. A series of numbers can also be found on the printed circuit board's surface. From five to forty-seven, these are the numbers.
