  • The Mark IV hardware production testing is conducted in four distinct phases: components, cards, modules, and panels. The first phase involves rigorous testing of all integrated circuits (ICs). Each IC undergoes three screening processes: a temperature cycle, hermetic seal fine and gross leakage tests, and a burn-in period. Following these screenings, the ICs are subjected to a 100 percent electrical parameter test to ensure their functionality and reliability.
  • Printed wire boards, commonly referred to as cards, are the focus of the second testing phase. These cards are burned at 155 oF for 160 hours while powered on, after which they undergo an in-circuit test followed by a functional test. If special calibration is required, it is conducted separately after these tests. The in-circuit and functional testing is performed using a General Radio GR2270 tester. This fully programmed testing approach ensures a high degree of consistency and accuracy in evaluating the cards' performance.
  • The third phase of testing targets individual modules. This process includes various tests, ranging from simple inspections of back-planes to automatic wiring scans of wired back-planes and cables. Additionally, power supplies undergo full functional testing. The comprehensive testing of modules ensures that each component meets the necessary standards before being integrated into the system.
