IC3600AOAL1C is an Amplifier Circuit Board manufactured and designed by General Electric as part of the Mark I & II Series used in gas turbine control systems. The Mark I and Mark I, the first two Speedtronic series produced by GE, have been utilized in practically every continent in ambient temperatures ranging from -50C to +50C. The MKI and MKII, which were built to be scalable and adaptable, have been used to control single heavy-duty units with ratings ranging from 4000 hp to 400 Mw combined cycle power plants. Nine integrated circuits and seven trim potentiometers are present. Amplifiers and two-input NAND gates are used in the circuits. Trim potentiometers can be used to tune, calibrate, or regulate circuits as well as divide voltage.

Ground Fault Detection

  • The three potential ground fault sources for the Mark II control system are the "Speedtronic Ground Fault," "125VDC Ground Fault," and "Thermocouple Ground Fault." The smooth operation and functioning of the turbine have been hampered for the past seven years by the "Speedtronic Ground Fault" and "125VDC Ground Fault."
  • Any kind of electrical or electronic system is extremely vulnerable to ground faults.
  • In addition to power outages, they can result in sparking and hardware damage. When one of the two poles, positive or negative, is grounded, ground faults are signaled. As soon as possible, the problem should be fixed because grounding the second pole will cause sparking and trip the machine.
  • Based on the foregoing, it was planned in the TA 2009 to overhaul the Speedtronic MARK II System and correct both ground faults.
