Functional Description

IS215UCVGM09 is a Drive Local Area Network Plus Card developed by General Electric. It is a part of LCI innovation series. UCVGM09 will be carefully packed in anti-static wrap to protect it from static discharge during shipment. Please discuss your preferred shipping speed and carrier with your representative. Overall, the module offers robust memory capacity, versatile programming options, Ethernet connectivity with support for multiple protocols, COM ports for diagnostics and serial communication, and an expansion site for further customization. These features make it a valuable component in industrial control systems, facilitating efficient data processing, communication, and system expansion.

Features

  • It is a DLAN+ Card made by GE. This card is intended for use in the front faceplate of version G Controllers or the 3.3. VDC interface of version H Controllers. On most controller cards, this will be installed near the bottom of the front faceplate.
  • The board has components on both sides. It has a small front faceplate that fits into the openings of the controllers it is designed to fit into. The faceplate of the component includes a single multi-pin connector as well as an ARCNET connector. The faceplate is attached to the board by two screws. These connectors are connected to the board.
  • After installation, the board will be supported by standoffs already installed on the motherboard's surface. For increased data rate, the board has improved buffering capability. There is a reduction in controller idle time. Data quality is improved by increased receiver sensitivity and noise rejection. This card is physically and electrically interchangeable with previous DLAN+ modules.
  • UCVGM09 contains a number of integrated circuits. A large yellow varistor component and two orange varistor components are used on the board. Multiple conductive dot connectors are used on the board. The board contains a number of vertical pin components.
  • When power is applied to the DLAN+ card for the first time, internal setup will take place.

Product Attributes

  • Memory: Equipped with a 128 MB SDRAM (Synchronous Dynamic Random Access Memory) for efficient data storage and processing. It also includes a 128 MB Compact Flash module, which provides additional storage capacity. To enhance performance, the module features a 256 KB Advanced Transfer Cache, which helps optimize data transfers between different components.
  • Programming: The module supports control block language programming, allowing users to create control algorithms using analog and discrete blocks. Boolean logic is represented in the relay ladder diagram format, which is a graphical programming language commonly used in industrial control systems. The module supports various data types, including Boolean, 16-bit signed integer, 32-bit signed integer, 32-bit floating point, and 64-bit long floating point, providing flexibility in handling different types of data.
  • Primary Ethernet Interface (Ethernet 1): Features a primary Ethernet interface that supports twisted pair 10BaseT/100BaseTX connections using an RJ-45 connector. The TCP/IP protocol is used for communication between the controller and the toolbox, enabling efficient data exchange and configuration management. Additionally, the module supports the Ethernet Global Data (EGD) protocol, which facilitates communication with the CIMPLICITY HMI (Human-Machine Interface) and Series 90-70 PLCs. The Ethernet Modbus protocol is also supported, enabling communication between the controller and third-party Distributed Control Systems (DCS).
  • Secondary Ethernet Interface (Ethernet 2): Includes a secondary Ethernet interface with the same twisted pair 10BaseT/100BaseTX connectivity using an RJ-45 connector. Similar to the primary interface, it supports the EGD and Ethernet Modbus protocols for communication with third-party DCS.
  • COM Ports: Equipped with two micro-miniature 9-pin D connectors for COM ports. COM1 is reserved for diagnostics and operates at a baud rate of 9600 with 8 data bits, no parity, and 1 stop bit. COM2 is used for serial Modbus communication and supports baud rates of either 9600 or 19200, providing flexibility for connecting to Modbus-compatible devices.
  • Expansion Site: It features a PMC (PCI Mezzanine Card) expansion site compliant with the IEEE 1386.1 standard. This expansion site allows for additional functionality and compatibility with 5V PCI expansion cards, enabling users to expand the capabilities of the module as needed.
