Functional Description

IS200BPPH2B is an Digital Expansion Module developed by GE. It is a part of Mark VI control system. The Mark VI system provides both simplex and triple modular redundant (TMR) control configurations, featuring single or multiple racks, as well as local or remote I/O capabilities. Its interface is purposefully engineered for direct connection to turbine sensors and actuators, eliminating the necessity for additional instrumentation. This streamlined approach not only enhances system reliability but also mitigates potential maintenance challenges associated with extra instrumentation layers.

Control Cabinet

  • The control cabinet houses either a single Mark VI control module for simplex operation or three TMR (Triple Modular Redundant) control modules for enhanced reliability. These modules are interconnected with their respective remote I/O units via a high-speed I/O network known as IONet. Furthermore, they are connected to the Unit Data Highway (UDH) through their controller Ethernet port.
  • Power Requirements: The control cabinet necessitates 120/240 V AC and/or 125 V DC power sources. These power inputs are converted to 125 V DC within the cabinet to supply power to the control modules and associated components.
  • Local or Remote I/O: The control cabinet supports both local and remote I/O configurations, providing flexibility in system architecture and deployment.

I/O cabinet

  • The I/O cabinet houses interface modules, which can be either single or triple, depending on the system configuration. These interface modules establish connections between the controllers and the terminal boards. They communicate with the controllers via the IONet network and with the terminal boards using dedicated cables. The terminal boards are located within the I/O cabinet, positioned in close proximity to the interface modules for efficient connectivity.
  • Similar to the control cabinet, the I/O cabinet requires power inputs of 120/240 V AC and/or 125 V DC. These power sources are utilized to meet the operational needs of the interface modules and other components within the cabinet.
