Functional Description

DS200TCDAP1BCM is a Digital I/O Board developed by GE. It is a part of the Mark V control system. It plays a vital role in handling and processing digital contact input signals as well as digital contact output signals, ensuring smooth communication and reliable turbine control operations. The Digital I/O Board (TCDA) is installed in the digital I/O cores Q11, Q51, and Q21 (if present). Its primary role is to process Digital contact input signals received from the DTBA and DTBB terminal boards. Contact output (relay/solenoid) signals sent to the TCRA boards.

TCDA Board Connectors

  • JP Connector – Distributes power from the TCPS board in cores R1, R2, and R5 to the corresponding digital cores Q11, Q21, and Q51.
  • JQ Connector – Connects to the JQR socket on the DTBA board. It carries digital contact input signals from the DTBA to the TCDA.
  • JR Connector – Connects to the JRR socket on the DTBB board. It carries digital contact input signals from the DTBB to the TCDA.
  • JO1 Connector – Writes contact output (relay/solenoid) signals to the TCRA board in location four. (Not used in Q11, as relays in location four are directly controlled by TCQE in R1).
  • JO2 Connector – Writes contact output (relay/solenoid) signals to the TCRA board in location five.
  • JX1 Connector – Shielded twisted pair used for IONET signals.
  • The TCDA board in Q11 core writes IONET signals to the JX2 connector on the TCEA board in location five of the P1 core.
  • The TCDA board in Q51 core writes IONET signals to the JX connector on the CTBA terminal board in the R5 core.
  • JX2 Connector – Functions the same as JX1, providing an alternate connection path for IONET communication.

TCDA Hardware Configuration

  • J1 and J8 – Reserved for factory testing.
  • J2 and J3 – Control IONET termination resistors.
  • J4, J5, J6 – Configure the IONET ID for the board, ensuring proper network addressing.
  • J7 – Enables or disables the stall timer function.
