FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION:
DS200PCCAG1A is a Power Connect Card manufactured and designed by General Electric as part of the EX2000 Series used in Excitation control systems. The Power Connect Card (PCCA) provides an interface between the drives control circuitry and the SCR power bridge. The PCCAG1A board uses pulse transformers to provide gate drive to the SCR bridge. For low-to-medium horsepower controllers, the PCCA board also includes snubber circuits to control spikes across the AC lines, DC bus, and gate drivers. For higher horsepower controllers, some or all of the snubber circuits are omitted from the PCCA board and are located elsewhere in the system.
BOARD GROUPS:
Ten group numbers make up the PCCA board. The voltage of the system, the size of the frame, and whether the system employs regenerative or non-regenerative power conversion all affect the group number that is employed in the system. According to the card group number and system voltage, jumpers JP1 and JP2 must be connected to the proper stab terminals P3 through P10. Stabbing terminals P1A and P1B are connected using jumpers WP3 and WP4, respectively. These jumpers are used to determine if the voltage feedback channel and the PCCA snubber capacitors are connected to the same location on the power bridge. The armature voltage scaling depends on which PCCA board group number is used:
The PCCA board has four wire jumpers, designated JP1, JP2, WP3, and WP4, that select system voltage and determine snubber capacitor connections.
BOARD CONNECTORS:
The PCCA board connects with the power supply board via one more plug connector, 5PL, and delivers forward and reverse gate pulse signals to the SCR bridge via twelve plug connectors, 1RPL through 6RPL and 1FPL through 6FPL.
APPLICATION DATA:
BOARD HARDWARE: There are no LEDs, fuses, testpoints, or switches on the PCCA board, but it does have programmable jumpers and wiring plug connectors. The sentences that follow in this section describe these things. There are four wire jumpers on the PCCA board, numbered JP1, JP2, WP3, and WP4.

What is the DS200PCCAG1A?
The GE DS200PCCAG1A Power Connect Card is a Power Connect Card used in the GE EX2000 Excitation Control System manufactured by General Electric. It acts as an interface between the drives control circuitry and the SCR power bridge, transmitting gate drive signals required for SCR switching. The board uses pulse transformers for isolated gate drive and may include snubber circuits to suppress voltage spikes across AC lines and the DC bus, ensuring stable and reliable system performance.
How are voltage feedback and snubber circuits configured on the PCCA board?
Voltage feedback and snubber capacitor connections are determined using jumpers WP3 and WP4 connected to terminals P1A and P1B. These jumpers allow engineers to configure whether the voltage feedback channel and snubber capacitors share the same location on the power bridge.
What are the jumper configurations available on the DS200PCCAG1A?
The board includes four configurable wire jumpers: JP1, JP2, WP3, and WP4. These jumpers are used to select the appropriate system voltage range and determine the connection point of the snubber capacitors and voltage feedback channels within the SCR bridge.
