FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION:

IS200TBCBH2A is a 4-20 mA Input RTD Termination Module manufactured and designed by General Electric as part of the Mark VI Series used in GE Speedtronic Gas Turbine Control Systems. The Termination Module RTD and 4ñ20 mA Input (TBCB) is in location seven of the core. RTD and mA input signals are landed on the TBCB terminal board. Eight of the 4 -20 mA input signals have the option to be configured using hardware jumpers to be 0 -1 mA input signals. The signals connected to the TBCB terminal board are written to the TCCB board in the core.

FUNCTIONS OF RTD TERMINATION MODULE:

Connection: It makes it possible for the control system or data acquisition apparatus to be safely wired to the RTD sensor. This guarantees that there is a trustworthy electrical connection between the measuring circuit and the sensor.

Termination: To keep the RTD wires from being left uncovered or susceptible to damage, the module has a termination point. It also provides a standardized connectivity interface, which makes installation easier.

Signal Conditioning: To amplify or filter the RTD signal before it is transmitted to the measurement instrument, the RTD termination module may occasionally contain signal conditioning circuitry. This may enhance the precision and dependability of temperature readings.

Compatibility: Custom resistance-based temperature sensors, Pt100, Pt1000, and other RTD sensor types are among the sensors that RTD termination modules are made to work with.

TBCB CONNECTORS:

JHH - Writes the mA input signals to the TCCB board in the core.
JII - Writes the RTD signals to the TCCB board in the core.

TBCB HARDWARE CONFIGURATION:

BJ1 - through BJ22 - Connects the mA input signals #1 through #22 to DCOM. BJ23 - through
BJ30 - Configures mA input signals #15 through #22 to either a 0 -1 mA or to a 4 -20 mA current range.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is a 4-20 mA Input RTD Termination Module?

A 4-20 mA Input RTD Termination Module is a device used in industrial instrumentation and control systems to interface Resistance Temperature Detectors (RTDs) with control systems. It typically converts the resistance signal from the RTD into a 4-20 mA current signal, which is a common industry standard for transmitting analog signals over long distances.

What is the purpose of a 4-20 mA Input RTD Termination Module?

The primary purpose of this module is to accurately measure temperature using RTDs and transmit this information to control systems or data acquisition systems. By converting the RTD resistance into a 4-20 mA current signal, provides a standardized and reliable method of transmitting temperature data over long distances with minimal signal degradation.

How does a 4-20 mA Input RTD Termination Module work?

The module typically consists of circuitry that measures the resistance of the RTD, converts this resistance into a corresponding current signal within the 4-20 mA range, and provides appropriate signal conditioning to ensure accuracy and stability. The 4 mA signal often corresponds to the lowest temperature measurement, while 20 mA corresponds to the highest temperature measurement.
