FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION:

IS200SHRAH1A is a HART Enabled Analog I/O Terminal Board manufactured and designed by General Electric as part of the Mark VIe Series used in GE Distributed Control Systems. The PHRA or YHRA pack is connected to the Highway Addressable Remote Transducer (HART®) Enabled Analog Input/Output (SHRA) terminal board, a small analog input terminal board with 10 analog inputs and two analog outputs. It enables the transmission of HART messages between a field device with HART support and the PHRA. Two-wire, three-wire, four-wire, or externally powered transmitters can be plugged into one of the ten analog inputs. There are two 4-20 mA analog outputs. The only accessible model of the board is simplex.

INSTALLATION:

A sheet metal carrier with the SHRA and a plastic insulator mounted on it attaches to a DIN rail. The SHRA plus insulator can optionally mount on a sheet metal assembly and then be bolted right to a cabinet. Euro-block terminal blocks come in the following two varieties:

  • SHRA1A has a permanently mounted terminal block with 48 terminals.
  • SHRA2A has a right angle header accepting a range of commercially available pluggable terminal blocks, with 48 terminals.

OPERATION:

For all of the transmitters, there is 24 V dc power accessible on the terminal board (transducers). By employing jumpers, one can select between current and voltage inputs. Only 4-20 mA inputs can be used for HART communication; inputs set to 5 V dc or 1 mA will not allow for communication. The two 4-20 mA analog output circuits. The terminal board cannot be utilized for TMR applications because there is only one cable connection.

CONFIGURATION:

Configuration of the terminal board is by means of jumpers. For the location of these jumpers refers to the installation diagram. The jumper choices are as follows:

  • Jumpers JP1A through JP8A select either current input or voltage input
  • Jumpers JP1B through JP8B select whether the return is connected to common or is left open
  • Jumpers JP9A and JP10A select either 1 mA or 20 mA input current
  • Jumpers JP9B and JP10B select whether the return is connected to common or is left open
