FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION:
IS200SAIIH2ACD is a Simplex Isolated Analog Input Terminal Board manufactured and designed by General Electric as part of the Mark VIe Series used in GE Distributed Turbine Control Systems. The Simplex Analog Input (SAII) terminal board is a compact, high-performance module that handles multiple analog signals with precision and reliability. It supports 10 analog input channels and 2 analog output channels, seamlessly interfacing with the PAIC (Pack Analog Input Controller) via a D-type connector and Ethernet. Each input channel can accept 2-wire, 3-wire, 4-wire, or externally powered transmitters, with point isolation provided for externally powered devices to ensure signal integrity and prevent ground loops. Every input features an isolator rated at 1500 V rms, offering excellent electrical protection and stability in demanding industrial environments.
The SAII provides two 0-20 mA analog outputs, one of which can be jumper-configured to 0-200 mA when used with a PAICH2 module, allowing flexibility for varied current output requirements. It utilizes high-density Euro-block terminal connectors for efficient field wiring and maintenance. Additionally, an on-board identification (ID) chip automatically recognizes the board within the system, enabling diagnostic functions and configuration verification. Designed for high reliability, easy integration, and compact installation, the SAII terminal board ensures accurate signal processing and robust performance for modern control and automation systems.
INSTALLATION:
The Simplex Analog Input (SAII) terminal board, along with its plastic insulator, is designed for flexible mounting options to suit various cabinet and panel configurations. Typically, the SAII and insulator are mounted on a sheet metal carrier, which is then secured to a standard DIN rail for easy installation and maintenance. Alternatively, the SAII with its insulator can be mounted on a sheet metal assembly and bolted directly to the equipment cabinet, providing a sturdy and space-efficient installation method for applications where DIN rail mounting is not preferred. SAIIH2 has a right-angle header accepting a range of commercially available pluggable terminal blocks, with a total of 48 terminals.
OPERATION:
A 24 V DC power supply is available directly on the terminal board to power connected transmitters or transducers, eliminating the need for external power sources in most applications. The board allows selection between current and voltage input modes using configuration jumpers, providing versatility for a wide range of analog input signal types of the two available analog output circuits, one fixed at 4-20 mA, while the second output can be jumper-configured for either 4-20 mA or 0-200 mA operation, depending on system requirements. The SAII connects to the control system through a single PAIC interface, which supports simplex configurations. As a result, the SAII terminal board is not compatible with Triple Modular Redundant (TMR) applications, unlike the TBAI board, which is designed for redundant system architectures.
