STANDARD HARDWARE FEATURES

The Digital Signal Processor (DSP) in the DSPX operates at 60 MHz. During standard operation, the DSP receives four external interrupts:

• Stack overflow (INT0)
• Inner loop load pulse (INT1)
• Two configurable inputs (INT2, INT3)
• FLASH memory for DSP boot images, code execution, and configurable item storage, along with system history records
• RAM for data storage and code execution
• NVRAM for nonvolatile data storage
• Add-only memory for board revision identification

IS200DSPXH2B SPECIALIZED HARDWARE FUNCTION

• The DSPX board's specialized tasks are provided by bespoke logic in Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA) or ASICs with the necessary supporting circuits. Most specialized and auxiliary tasks can be found in a single ASIC.
• Two 5 Mb/s ISBusTM interfaces are employed as either master or slave
• A single asynchronous TTL interface including RX, TX, and TXEN/RTS data signals for a computer-based configuration tool
• A single asynchronous TTL interface with RX, TX, and RTS data signals for a programming board
• The values of I/O, such as bridge, motor, or generator voltages and current VCOs, tachometer counters, and discrete inputs, are captured by an inner loop load pulse signal. Additionally, it has the ability to synchronize software, gating outputs to bridges, and ISBus channels.
• To record the values of other application VCOs and, if desired, the tachs, an application loop load pulse signal is employed at a sub-multiple or multiple of the inner loop load pulse.

ONBOARD FIRMWARE

• The boot loader, which manages the power-up process, shouldn't be reloaded in the field.
• The specific control functions for the drive or exciter product are defined by the application code. Through the Exciter's Tool port, this code is loaded.
• The toolbox is used to load configuration parameters. Excitation parameter loading occurs via the Unit Data Highway. Drive parameters are imported into ACL_, if necessary, through a serial port, ISBus, or Ethernet.
