Functional Description

DS200EXPSG1ABB is a Power Supply Board developed by General Electric. It is a part of EX2000 excitation system. It is an essential component of the EX2000 excitation system, providing accurate signals for measuring AC and DC input power and offering current-limiting protection when powered by a station battery.

Features

  • Power Measurement: Provides signals for measuring AC and DC input power. Ensures accurate power regulation within the EX2000 excitation system.
  • Current Limiting Protection: Protects the board and connected components by limiting excessive current flow when powered by a station battery. Prevents system damage due to unexpected power surges.
  • Power Supply Regulation: Ensures a stable power supply to the EX2000 system. Converts and distributes DC power efficiently across the system.

Procedure for Replacing the Board

  • Turn Off Power: Shut down the power supply and verify that all connections show zero potential.
  • Remove the Power Supply Assembly: Carefully disconnect the following connectors LFTB, 1TB through 8TB, DCTB, VM2A, and VM2B (as required).
  • Loosen and Remove the Assembly: Unscrew the four mounting screws that hold the power supply assembly in place. Carefully lift the assembly out of the cabinet. Do not remove ACPL during this process.
  • Move to a Workbench: Take the power supply assembly to a clean, static-free work area. Remove the four screws securing the plastic protective cover. Unplug DCPL, 3GDPL, and 4GDPL connectors from the EXPS board.
  • Remove the Old Board and Install the New Board: Carefully remove the old EXPS board. Install the replacement EXPS board. Set jumper JPl in the exact same position as on the old board. Replacement boards may have different revision levels, but GE ensures compatibility with existing systems.
  • Reinstall the Components: Reconnect all connectors that were removed. Secure the plastic protective cover with the screws.
  • Reinstall the Power Supply Assembly: Place the power supply assembly back into the cabinet. Reconnect all cables as labeled, ensuring proper seating at both ends.

Jumpers

  • JPl Jumper Function: JPl connects the center tap of Transformer (T1) secondary to the ground. This setting plays a role in power regulation and grounding for stable operation.
  • Jumper Adjustment Steps: Remove black and white wires in CPS PTB1 and PTB2 terminal board. Unplug ACPL before making adjustments. Position JPl correctly based on system requirements.
