Functional Description

5462-944 is a DPS3/DT Module developed by Woodward. The DPS3/DT Module represents a significant advancement in their product portfolio, offering cutting-edge functionality and reliability. At its core, the Module is designed to provide precise and efficient control in diverse applications, ranging from industrial processes to power generation. This module incorporates state-of-the-art technology and engineering expertise to ensure optimal performance in demanding environments.

Features

  • It offers exceptional accuracy in monitoring and controlling critical parameters, enabling users to maintain tight regulation over various processes. This level of precision contributes to enhanced efficiency, improved safety, and reduced operational costs.
  • The robust design ensures its durability and longevity, even in challenging operating conditions. It can withstand extreme temperatures, vibrations, and electrical disturbances, providing reliable operation over extended periods. Woodward's commitment to quality is evident in every aspect of the Module, ensuring its suitability for mission-critical applications.
  • It is also highly flexible and customizable, allowing users to tailor its functionality to specific requirements.
  • With its advanced capabilities, the Module empowers engineers and operators to optimize their processes and achieve superior control performance.

System TMR Features

  • Kernel power supplies, CPUs, and twelve I/O Modules can be installed in the TMR Main chassis. This is the foundation of TMR systems, whether they use the TMR5200 processor or the TMR040 processor.
  • Kernel PS modules must be compatible with the type of CPU used. Using RTN networks and TMR5200 processors, the system can be expanded to three I/O chassis. Because each CPU has access to the I/O with the RTN, I/O in the expansion chassis is considered Shared I/O.
  • Transceiver modules and copper or fiber cables are used with the TMR040 processors to connect to multiple chassis to accommodate additional system I/O requirements. In this case, I/O is assigned to a single CPU.

System CPU Module

  • To facilitate the transition to the new CPUs, several updates and replacements are necessary. For NetCon systems, converting to the new CPUs will require application software updates, chassis replacement, power supply replacement, and potentially updates to the I/O modules.
  • Similarly, for MicroNet systems, the conversion to the new CPUs will involve application software updates and possibly updates to the I/O modules.
  • In the case of TMR (Triple Modular Redundancy) systems, all of the CPUs and Kernel Power Supplies will need to be replaced, and updates to the I/O modules might also be necessary.
  • CPU 040/060 Modules used in older NetConTM/MicroNet platforms and the 040 TMR product line have been replaced due to component obsolescence. Transitioning to the new CPUs requires software updates, potential chassis and power supply replacements, and updates to I/O modules depending on the specific system.
