DS3800HSAA1T is a Dom Plus Servo Amp Board manufactured and designed by General Electric. On one end of the Servo Amp Board, there is a modular connector, and on the other end, there are retention levers. A heat sink is installed on the board. The analog/digital converter is a board-mounted component. In addition, the GE Dom Plus Servo Amp Board has 1 34-pin connector and 1 socket for electrically erasable programmable read-only memory (EEPROM) modules. The board also has three trimmer resistors.
One component on the Amp Board is surrounded by a heatsink.

DS3800HSAA1T Features

  • The heatsink is designed to keep the component cool by drawing heat away from it while it generates heat. The extra heat is carried away by free flowing air passing over the heatsink.
  • A constant supply of air is required for the heatsinks to function properly. The drive works by drawing cool air into the drive's air vents at the bottom. The components heat the air, which rises until it exits the drive through the top air vents. Because they block the air vents, ribbon cables can cause the drive to overheat.
  • Another factor to consider is that the room in which the drive is installed is excessively hot. This can happen if there are too many other heat-generating devices in the room. To address the problem, ventilation hoods can be installed over the equipment to remove excess heat. The hoods also remove dust, dirt, and oil from the room, which aids in drive operation.

Closed Loop Feedback

This test examines the HSAA card's two output channels and two LVDT feedback input channels. The source signals are the outputs (CURRENT) of channels 1 and 2 of the HSAA card under test.

  • Cable 8 transports the source signals to the NATD, where they are conditioned.
  • The source signals can be changed by 'forcing, GSADJ on the corresponding page of Data List 15.
  • The source signals from channels 1 and 2 can be monitored using a voltmeter connected between TPl of the NATD and ACOM of the HAIC card in and TP2 and ACOM, respectively.
  • Cable B then connects the NATD's conditioned signals to the HSAA card's two LVDT input channels (POS VOLTS).
  • Each channel of each HSAA card is serviced by a separate page of Data List 15. Each HSAA card in each Controller must be connected to the NATD one at a time until all channels are checked.
