DS3800HACA1A is an Address Customize Card manufactured and designed by General Electric. It is a Part of Mark IV series. The Circuit Board HACA is outfitted with a modular connector for attaching to a drive as well as retention levers to keep the board in place.

Testing

  • The Mark IV hardware is tested in four stages: components, cards, modules, and panels. All integrated circuits are subjected to three screens during the component test: temperature cycle, hermetic seal fine and gross leakage, and burn-in.
  • The ICs are then subjected to a 100% electrical parameter test. Printed wire boards (cards) are burned in at 155F for 160 hours with the power on, followed by an in circuit test and a functional test. If additional calibration is required, it is performed after the testing.
  • A General Radio GR2270 tester is currently being used for circuit and functional testing.
  • The tests are fully programmed, resulting in high consistency and accuracy. Individual tests on the modules range from simple back-plane inspections to automatic wiring scans on wired back-planes and cables to full functional testing of power supplies.
  • The total hardware configuration will be functionally tested on the C communicator and RST controller modules. A functional hardware test is performed on the fully assembled panel, during which all input signals are simulated and all output signals are validated.
  • The tests and measurements are made from the customer interfaces for completeness. The testing is fully programmed, providing a high level of assurance about the thoroughness and quality of the tests.

  • The HACA is inserted into the board and slides into a board rack designed for easy and quick board installation and removal. The board's end is equipped with a module connector that allows connection to a matching connector in the drive's interior.
  • Retention levers are available to keep the board in place and ensure a secure connection. However, to ensure proper board operation and to extend the life of the drive's components and boards, it is critical to ensure that excessive heat does not build up in the drive interior. That is only possible if the installation is meticulously planned.
  • The drive is frequently installed in rooms with numerous other drives and other equipment nearby. When installing the drive, choose a location free of dust, dirt, harsh chemicals, and extreme heat and humidity. The drive is mounted on a wall with bolts that support its weight. Choose a location with enough space around all sides of the drive when it's installed.
  • Heat from devices on the other side of the wall can pass through the wall.
