The IC697CMM742-LL is an Ethernet Interface module developed by General Electric. It's made for the GE 90-70 Type 2 series. The module has three network ports that connect the IC697 PLC to the Ethernet LAN. The Ethernet interface module's network port is a standard 15-pin connector. It accepts a user-supplied 802.3-compatible transceiver. The module supports 10BaseT, 10Base5, 10Base2, 10BaseF, or 10Broad36 media.

• The IC697CMM742-LL Ethernet interface also comes with preloaded firmware for easy setup; firmware is also simple to upgrade and maintain indefinitely. This interface allows TCP/IP communication via SRTP, data interchange via configuration/logic-based Ethernet global data, full PLC programming/configuration, and station management/diagnostic tools.
• LAN ONLINE, MODULE OK, SERIAL ACTIVE, and STATUS OK are the LEDs on the Ethernet interface. If the diagnostics are successful, the MODULE OK LED will illuminate. If the diagnostics fail, the LED will remain off.
• During diagnostics, blinking is common and/or indicates unusual operating conditions. The LAN ONLINE LED will turn on when you're connected to the network and ready. It will emit OFF if there is a disruption or malfunction. Blinking is a frequent data transmission sign.
• When no data is being exchanged, SERIAL ACTIVE will be switched off and will flash when data is being transferred. When the STATUS OK light is turned on, it means that everything is running normally. Blinking is typical when OFF signifies an occurrence that requires the user's attention.
• A restart button is also included, with four functions: LED test, restart, restart and enter software load state, and restart and enter maintenance state.
