GE IC694BEM331 is a Genius Input-Output Bus controller developed by General Electric under the Fanuc line. The RX3i PACSystems product family includes Fanuc Automation. It's built to work with the RX3i PACSystems controllers as well as serial Bus I/O. The component allows an exchange of up to 128 data bytes at a spell. The operation and communication bus status are indicated by two LED indicators on the front of this Genius I/O Bus controller. When the module is in normal operation, these two LED indications glow green.

The IC694BEM331 connects a Genius I/O serial bus to a PACSystems RX3i. The bus will also service remote drops, Genius blocks, VersaMax and Field Control I/O Stations, PLCs with Genius Bus, Genius Hand-Held Monitor (HHM), and various hosts in addition to the Bus Controller.
• The Genius blocks and other devices on the Genius I/O bus exchange 128 bytes with each other and other devices automatically send defects to the bus controller, including alarms and certain other previously defined issues.
• Any diagnostic messages received by the bus controller are then managed by the bus controller and frequently viewed by the CPU. If programming software is used, faults can be presented in the fault table.
• The bus terminal on the IC694BEM331 Genius I/O Bus controller contains resistors rated at 75 ohms, 100 ohms, 120 ohms, and 150 ohms, with resistors on both ends of the electric bus wire. GE Bus controller has a Hi-pot isolation rating of 2000 Volts. The transient common-mode rejection rating of 1500 Volts. The Proficy Machine Edition programming software is used to control the Bus controller unit.
