Features

• The module has 24 channels of 0-5 Vdc input and 8 channels of 4-20 mA output. Two special Simplex Dataforth FTMs are connected through two high density analog/digital cables in place of the two standard 24/8 FTMs. Its purpose is to convert sensor input signals to a 0 to 5 V input that can be used with the 24/8 Analog module.
• Each channel can be configured independently using a plug-in standard isolated Dataforth SCM7B converter that has been modified to meet Woodward's bandwidth and input temperature range requirements. Each module can be plugged into any of the FTM's 12 channels. Each plug-in module converts the incoming signal to a voltage ranging from 1 to 4 volts. The FTM and its plug-in modules do not require calibration. The plug-in modules are powered directly through the cable connector, so no external power connections to the FTM are required.

Installation

• The modules are inserted into card guides in the control's chassis and connected to the motherboard. Two screws, one at the top and one at the bottom of the front panel, hold the modules in place.
• There are also two handles at the top and bottom of the module that, when toggled (pushed outward), move the modules out just far enough for the boards to disengage the motherboard connectors.
• Each Dataforth module is linked to two Simplex Dataforth FTMs via two high density analog/discrete cables. The FTM has access to all I/Os on the module.
