Functional Description

DS200TCPDG1BBA is a Power Distribution Module developed by GE. It is a part of the Mark V control system. The Power Distribution Board (TCPD), located in PD, serves a crucial role in the Mark VIe system by distributing 125 V DC power to various components and boards across different cores.

Power Distribution Responsibilities

  • Power Distribution Responsibilities: The TCPD board distributes 125 V DC power to essential system components, including TCPS boards in each I/O core, the Control Engine core, and TCEA boards in the P1 core. This structured distribution ensures that every critical section of the control system receives consistent and reliable power.
  • Individual Core Power Control: The board is equipped with switches that enable operators to power down individual cores without interrupting the operation of other cores. Enhances operational flexibility. Facilitates maintenance and troubleshooting. Prevents unnecessary downtime by isolating only the affected section.
  • Powering Digital I/O Cores: Digital I/O cores (Q11, Q21, and Q51) do not receive power directly from PD. Instead, they draw power indirectly through their associated I/O cores. However, certain terminal boards like DTBC and DTBD (responsible for solenoid output power) receive direct power from the TCPD board. This separation ensures that critical solenoid-driven outputs remain stable and dependable.
  • Specialized Power Supply Functions: The board also supplies 120/240 V AC power specifically for ignition transformers connected to the DTBC terminal board within digital cores. Ensures proper operation of ignition components. Provides stable AC power for processes that support turbine startup and combustion control.
  • Monitoring and Control Capabilities: The board not only distributes power but also supports monitoring through connected boards. The CTBA terminal board in R5 core receives power from the TCPD board. This allows real-time monitoring of PD power output, ensuring Safe operation, Quick identification of faults, Enhanced system diagnostics.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is DS200TCPDG1BBA?
It is a Power Distribution Module developed by GE.

Which components receive power directly from the board?
The board distributes power to TCPS boards in each IO core, the Control Engine core, and TCEA boards in P1 core.

How does the board enhance operational flexibility?
It includes switches that enable individual powering down of each core, allowing for targeted maintenance and troubleshooting without affecting other system components unnecessarily.

Do digital I/O cores receive power directly from the board?
No, digital I/O cores (Q11, Q21, and Q51) receive their power indirectly from their associated IO cores. However, specific terminal boards like DTBC and DTBD in these cores draw power directly.
