DS3800NTCF1A1A is developed by General Electric as a thermocouple condition board. It's from the Mark IV series. The Mark IV is GE's steam/gas turbine management system, and it features triple-redundancy on all critical protective parameters and controls. These backups give the Mark IV the flexibility to change control as needed to keep the system functioning if a specific chipset fails, reducing downtime.

  • The Mark IV system uses feedback from thirteen thermocouple cards to ensure temperature control. The goal of this feedback loop is to keep the turbine from overheating by maintaining a consistent firing temperature and reducing fuel flow. A single card's deviation can generate a bias in the entire system, which is why it's critical that all thermocouple cards in the system remain in good operating order. Poor statistical input can cause problems with the engine and/or the combustor.
  • There are two PCB mating connectors on the PCB. 218A4637-P4 8933 is the number on one of them. 218A4553-1 A/mp 533002-1 8931 is the other. There are seven test points, five jumpers, four rotary potentiometers, and a single resistor network array on the board.
  • Both resistor networks and rotary potentiometers can be used to divide voltage. Extractor/installer clips are put in the right corners of the card. These nylon clips aid in the installation as well as the removal of the board.
  • Technicians can use these clips as handles during installation to avoid handling components. The clips operate as a lever point during extraction, allowing technicians to lift the board from a tight-seated position.
  • There are eight circuits in the PCCB. Hex inverting gates, which have six independent gates and execute the logic INVERT function, octal buffers, and line drivers with three-state outputs that have better fan-in, high fan-out, and a 400-mV noise margin, are among them.
  • Both carbon composite (CCR) and ceramic-covered metal film resistors are used in the PCB. Ceramic, polyester film, and other materials are used to make capacitors.
